Monday, March 23. 2020 -- We are starting the second week of our closure. We will complete these two weeks as originally outlined. Please refer to our COVID-19 Info tab on our website so you can link to Youtube videos of the class choreography for recital. It's important students practice it several times, not just once or twice. There are other fun dance activities on the that page, as well as our Facebook page.
We will be shifting gears since the school closures are extending beyond the two weeks, and we want our students to continue learning choreography and receive all of the benefits of their dance classes (well, excluding the live interaction with their instructor and classmates since we are all social distancing). We ask for your patience this week as we formalize all of the logistics, train our instructors, and allow them prep time. Meanwhile, keep practicing choreography, do some conditioning or kids' Yoga, practice "I Will Survive," and be ready to learn some new moves next week. We will send you another email by the end of this week (no later than Friday) so you will know how to go forward also.
Sunday, March 22. 2020 -- The most current mandate for school closures for the State of Illinois is through April 7, 2020 (return on Wednesday, April 8). We will remain closed during this time, or later as deemed appropriate. We are aware that the Chicago School District is closed through April 21, and it is possible we will be closed that long as well. But at minimum, we will follow the State school closures mandare. Since things change day-to-day, we are being very fluid with our plans as well.
We ask that you notify us if your child or a family member is directly exposed or tested positive with COVID-19 so we can notify our families and take appropriate actions.
We miss you. All of the instructors hope you are making the best of a bad situation and that you just keep on dancin'!

RECITAL CHOREOGRAPHY
All of our recital choreography has been uploaded to our COVID-19 Info website page. PLEASE KEEP PRACTICING several times daily so our students can perform this without watching the video.
We have included some basic instructional videos for our Itty Bitty Ballet and Pre-Ballet 1 classes so you can practice at home.
MAKE UP CLASS SCHEDULE
A schedule of the classes for the lower levels (Itty Bitty Ballet, Pre-Ballet 1 through 3, Hip Hop Minis, and Pre-Jazz/Hip Hop) is listed on our COVID-19 Info website page. Once we return to our studio for classes, students can make up their classes any time during the Spring Session.
Since some of our upper level students (age 8 and older in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop) take all available classes at their level, we will make their classes up at a designated time after we resume our normal schedule. These make up classes will be held on Friday evenings or Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Of course, if students are able to attend another class during the regular class schedule, they may.
Additional information will be available once we are certain about our return date.

We will be posting updates, fun posts, and activities for you and your child. You are all welcome to post videos and pictures of things your children are doing at home, i.e., practicing the dance, choreographing his/her own dance, creating a production, etc. Since we are going to be self-distancing for two weeks, let's put some exciting, positive, fun feeds through https://www.facebook.com/MonganDance/! We will even have some super fun challenges throughout these two weeks!!!
